Starting Off 2021 the "Write" Way
When I woke up on Friday morning, the very first day of a brand-new year (after the debacle of what was now 2020), I felt the sudden urge to drive to a beach. Fortunately, living in California, that is possible whenever you are so inclined. Only one of my children wanted to accompany me, my eldest twin, so off the two of us went. I chose Stinson Beach, an old favorite up the northern coast that I hadn't visited in a few years now.
Of course, making the mistake of going on a Friday - a holiday everyone else also has off from work - was soon apparent. Parking was ghastly, and one of the lots was so full of ruts and deep puddles I thought for sure my poor BMW sedan was doomed. It’s not meant for such excursions, and I really do need to buy an SUV – and soon! However, after a few trips around the alternate, much more adequately paved lot, we finally secured a spot; and subsequently were – well - rewarded with the following views, making it all worth it for the day.

We ended it with a drive around nearby Edun Lake, which graced us with one of the most breathtaking sunset photos I've ever captured:

What a start to 2021. Many blessings to all, and may this year go a bit easier on us than the previous one.
